Why You Should Not Rely On The Grid
Although there is nothing wrong with using the Grid (and many use renewable energy as complementary), the reality is that with rising fuel bills a few solar panels and/or a wind turbine of your own will allow you to save a bucketload of money every year - in some cases you can even make a surplus and get paid by the energy company! There's also another benefit which many reneweable-energy sites do not mention: If the Grid goes down then you have a back-up system so that you and your family can get through the outage until Grid power is restored. That's a big peace-of-mind value in my view.

Hiya Michael,
I just wanted to drop a line to say thanks. My wife and I have been looking for good information on renewable energy solutions for some time now because of the recent price increase in traditional energy sources. After receiving your Earth4Enregy guide we made our own solar panel grid, and it is giving us more than enough energy to power our household appliances. Our next step is to build a wind powered system for those cloudy days. We have already noticed how much money we can save!
Thanks again for giving us the know how to help make this a better world for our kids and grandkids.
